To prepare the Kadai Chicken all you need is listed below.
INGREDIENTS:
Chicken-1 Kg.
Onions-1 big(Cut in to cubes) & 2(finely chopped)
Capsicum-1( Cubes)
Cumin-1 table spoon
Ginger&garlic paste-1 table spoon
Red chilli powder-1 table spoon
Turmeric powder-1 tea spoon
Dried red chillies- 2
Garam masala-1 table spoon
Kadai masala-4 table spoons
Tomatoes- 4 big(finely chopped)
oil-6 table spoons
Salt- to taste
PREPARATION:
Kadai masala preparation:
- Coriander seeds-3 table spoons
- Cumin seeds- 1 table spoon
- Fennel seeds- 1 table sppon
- Black pepper-1 table spoon
- Dried chillies-6
- Kasuri methi- 1 tea spoon
Then grind it roughly as a course powder.
- Marinate the chicken with Pepper powder, salt and Kadai masala, Set it a side for 20 minutes.
- Take a pan and pour 6 table spoons of oil. Then add cubes of Capsicum and Onion.
- Then saute the cubes until the cubes are slightly cooked and remove it from the pan.
- Now add cumin seeds and dried chillies in to the pan, saute it for few seconds.
- Then add finely chopped onions and saute it until the onions get light golden color, then add 1tb.sp. of ginger garlic paste, saute it until raw smell gone away.
- Now add the chicken pieces in to the pan. and cook it for few minutes and add spices like Turmeric powder, Red chilli powder, 2 tb.sp. of Kadai masala, Garam masala and Salt and give it a good stir.
- Now add finely chopped tomatoes in to the pan and cook it for 15-20 minutes by placing a lid on it.
- Now heat the Butter and add 1 tea spoon of red chilli powder and 2 pinches of black pepper powder add this mixture in to the chicken. This gives a good flavor to the chicken.(This step is optional).
- Now add the Capsicum and onion cubes in to the recipe and cook it for few minutes.
- Finally add 1 tb.sp. of Kadai masala.
